Trivandrum
The capital city of Kerala, where the magnificent Ananthapadmanabha Swami Temple situates, is also blessed with two famous Beaches Kovalam and Varkala. The Travancore was ruled by the Venad Kings from 1750 to 1956, and colonized by British, and along the M.G.Road still you can see old colonial buildings sharing space with new High rises. The city is also counted as one of the Kerala's main centers of Ayurveda. The city is Built just like Rome among seven low hills.
Alleppey
Dubbed by colonial rulers as Venice of the East, due to the network of waterways which criss cross the Landmass. Here land and water are inseparable from the life and lifelines of the dwellers. The world's only place in which rice paddy cultivated below sea level is in Kuttanad, which is in Aleppey. Coir making, one of the traditional industries of kerala (a product from Coconut husk) is the backbone of the economy of the region. Here is the venue of Snake Boat race, which is going on every year in the month of August.
Kumarakom
A sleepy typical Kerala village with a bird sanctuary on the banks of Vembanad Lake is an ideal spot for relaxation and rejuvenation treatments like Ayurvedic message. Watching migratory birds or taking a Canoe ride through the narrow stretches of the lake would be adding more pleasure to your stay in this green paddy village.
Thekkaday (Periyar, Altitude 1300mts)
The Wild life Sanctuary covers 777 Sq Kms, which is declared as a tiger reserve in 1978 under Project Tiger by the Indian Government. It is set around an artificial dam in the Periyar River by the British. This place is the Hub of Spice Cultivation in the world. The name Thekkady derived from the Teak trees planted by the British. The only place now in India you can watch wild animals from the safety of a boat is in this place. Trekking, River Rafting, Boarder Hiking, Bird Watching, Jungle Camping, Night Trekking are the main activities,
Munnar (Altitude 1700mts)
The Three mountain Streams, Kundala, Mudrapuzha and Nalla Thanni join together in a place, which is called Munnar (means the confluence of Three Rivers). This place is famous for a Shrub, which blooms once in 12 years (Neelakurinji), bathing the whole area in its blue color. The Endangered mountain goat Nilgiri Thar is also found in Rajamala area, which comes under Eravikulam National Park. Munnar was once the summer time residence of British Empire. Here British started the tea plantations in 1878. This place is aoristically famous for its breathtaking views and a perfect place for cycling, trekking, mountaineering, walking etc.
Cochin, (Kochi).
This is Kerala's most Cosmopolitan city, situated in the center of the state along the Arabian Sea, and the ancient maritime traders nick named it as the Queen of Arabian Sea. The Portuguese, the Dutch and the British dominated this area for many centuries consecutively as it was the centre of the lucrative spice trade.  Fort Cochin, the former European settlement area is dotted with many historic monuments such as the St.Francis Church (the oldest European Church in the commonwealth) the 500-year-old Dutch Palace, 500 year old Jewish Synagogue and the Jew town. Here one can visit the old Chinese fishing nets came from the court of Kublai Khan overlooking the Backwaters. Ernakulam is the modern part of Cochin which houses many commercial and Industrial Centers.
